Hi there, how are you doing? I can’t believe this is the last newsletter of 2022, I hope you’ve enjoyed time traveling with me, I sure did had a blast! Here’s to another year full of art and inspiration! 🙂
Here is what I got for you, this time it’s a colorful french poster designer and illustrator, a vintage racing Czech matchbox, a Christmas pen ad, a magazine article looking for Santa and a super cute book about space!
An illustrator: René Ravo
René Ravo (1904-1998) was a french designer and illustrator who made a lot of artwork for different advertisement campaigns.
Orphaned at age 9, he was soon forced to abandon his drawing studies to start working on the automobile industry. He first came into contact with the world of advertisement when he was doing his military services.
René RAVO – 1963 – TÔT OU TARD VOUS AUREZ UN VELOSOLEX
René RAVO – c.1939 – RADIOLA, TOUTES LES NUANCES MUSICALES
Ravo had worked for agencies such as Puybelle and Avenir-Publicité before starting his own creative studio in Paris.
As for me, I loved René Ravo’s work since the first time I came across one of his bright colorful posters, it’s precisely these colorful palettes and fun characters that made me fall in love with them.
I’d like to especially highlight his works for Radiola and VeloSolex.
You know, we love Peter P. Plasencia’s work here at The Attic, so make sure to check this book out!
This is all for this issue, I hope you have a lovely ending of 2022! And now it’s that time of the year where I’m going to make the joke: See you next year! 😉
